Common Eggfly Butterfly Emerging from a Chrysalis

Common Eggfly Butterfly Emerging from a Chrysalis 02

The chrysalis (or pupa) is the transformation stage within which the caterpillar tissues are broken down and the adult insect's structures are formed.

This is a common eggfly butterfly (Hypolimnas bolina) that had just emerged from its chrysalis. I saw it in the backyard.
