I saw a female Red base-winged vegetable grasshopper (Atractomorpha crenulata) attacked by a wasp in the backyard on one afternoon. The wasp was moving quickly and directly cutting the wings of the grasshoppers. The wasp seem to want to cut the grasshopper into 2 parts, and may then carry away most of its body. Unfortunately (or fortunately...) the grasshopper managed to break free.
