Amaranth Family Plant: Cockscomb (Celosia cristata L.)

This is a medicinal plant that grows wild on the terrace above the house in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, Indonesia, in between the water tank.

Flowers of this amaranth family plant can be used to treat:
- bleeding, such as nosebleeds (epistaxis), coughing up blood (haemoptysis), vomiting blood (hematemesis), bloody urine (hematuria), bleeding hemorrhoids, uterine bleeding,
- dysentery, diarrhea,
- blurred vision, red eye,
- urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, and vaginal discharge (leukorea).
